Founded in 1925, Woelm GmbH is a traditional German manufacturer of building fittings, door handles, sliding systems, and more, employing 280 staff at its 25,000 m² production site in Heiligenhaus. Sustainability has long been part of the company’s DNA, with a strong focus on wastewater and exhaust air treatment as well as efficient resource use.
Our services included conducting an energy audit of the heating system across the entire production site with multiple halls, and developing a master plan for the energy-efficient refurbishment of the heat generation system. We also created a retrofit strategy for the compressed air system and an energy efficiency expert report used to apply for public funding. For one factory building, we carried out a feasibility study comparing various heating and air-conditioning options, including renewable heat generation technologies.
