From industrial waste heat to district heating
This project, awarded first place in the German energy efficiency competition “Wettbewerb-Energieeffizienz”, demonstrates how industrial waste heat can create community value. By retrofitting coffee roasting ovens with advanced heat recovery devices, the captured energy is fed into Berlin’s district heating grid, supplying warmth to a neighboring residential quarter.
