The Transformation Plan is a strategic decarbonization roadmap, e.g. required for funding under the German Federal Subsidy Program for Energy and Resource Efficiency. It supports companies in planning and implementing the transition to climate neutrality, based on a clearly defined CO₂ baseline and reduction pathway.

A complete Transformation Plan includes the following key elements:

Baseline CO₂ assessment (Scope 1 & 2) for at least one company site in Germany, in line with recognized standards (e.g. GHG Protocol, ISO 14064). Each additional site must be assessed individually.

Commitment to net zero by 2035 / 2050 covering Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions only.

Action Plan with a set of concrete decarbonization measures.

Integration into corporate structures (“governance anchoring”) to ensure the climate targets are tracked and implemented. This includes alignment with existing energy or environmental management systems (e.g. ISO 50001).
The Transformation Plan is a formal prerequisite for several German funding schemes and serves as a credible basis for ESG strategy, investment planning, and stakeholder reporting.
